PUCCS & the Advantage Co Partner, Launch Communal Fundraising Opportunity

April 2, 2013

This year, the Advantage Co has produced a special fundraising edition as part of the 17th annual Advantage Co Catalog, which includes a $100 Tony Walker & Co Gift Certificate [good for up to 50% off the purchase price] printed on the back cover. The Advantage Co is excited to offer hundreds of these free gift certificates for sale through the PUCCS foundation helping to raise awareness about its mission and, more specifically, to help fund research and create educational materials in the area of concussion and stroke. The entire $100 catalog purchase goes directly to the PUCCS foundation, while the participant receives a catalog with a $100 Tony Walker & Co gift.

The mission of PUCCS, which was founded in 2011 by a collection of physicians, coaches and parents, is to provide the tools necessary to understand and prevent concussions as an injury in all sports. Dr. Elad Levy, Professor of Neurosurgery, Radiology, University at Buffalo and President and Founder of PUCCS, said, “We want to make parents, coaches and the community aware of the devastating effects a major concussion can have on our children.”

Since its beginning, PUCCS has hosted two charity hockey tournaments. With the support of several generous donors, PUCCS has raised more than $200,000 in the pursuit of funding additional research related to concussion and stroke as well as crafting concussion education material for children, parents and coaches.
